Total loss evaluation process
You were hit and you had no fault of your own. Your car is a total loss, now the insurance company offers you substantially less than you are willing to take. The insurance adjuster will tell you that according to the comps in your area, your car is not worth much more than that, and that their offer is final.
Is that true? Is the offer really final? It is only final if you take it. There are things you can do to review those comps, make sure that you are not being lied to. Verified everything the insurance company gives. Most insurance company use a third party company call CCC to evaluate your total loss. Double check what that company is looking at, why? CCC is being trying to settle several class actions for using improper values and lower car total loss settlements. Make sure you know what the adjuster is looking at, and if you do not like what you see, then you must argue and make the adjuster show you their numbers.
